Previously when WhatsApp group admins want to add people to a group they usually save their phone numbers first and then add them to the group. Now with recent versions of WhatsApp you can add people using a “Group Link”.
To do this follow these steps:
1. Go to the “Group info” and tap on “Invite to group via link”
2. On the next screen you’ve options to either share, copy, scan QR code or revoke the link.
3. If you want to send the click to someone to join, you can simply click “Copy link” to copy the link to the clipboard and now you can just paste it to the messenger box of the person you want to join the link.
- If you want to share it on social media or email you will need to tap on “Share link“.
- Now anyone with the link can automatically join the group by just tapping on the group link.
- That’s it.
Note: to avoid unknown users joining the group don’t share the link on social media only send it to people you want to be part of the group. You can also revoke the link by clicking on the “Revoke link” to generate a new link for the group.
